MPT is a walking food tour company located in Southern California. Food tours are designed to entertain and educate locals and visitors alike. Our tours and events strive to ignite in its participants a passion for and appreciation of Southern California as a world-class culinary destination. All of the tours and events include samples, tastings or a meal.
MPT is truly passionate about providing unique culinary and historic experiences throughout the Southern California area. We are all about immersing ourselves into Los Angeles’ many diverse cities and neighborhoods. Showcasing family-owned restaurants and the history of their timeless recipes and colorful stories are what makes us unique. We take a lot of pride in highlighting the small, hidden pockets of the area.
Most tours are perfect for all ages and all occasions, we can’t wait to share with you all of our in-the-know secrets. We promise an authentic, unforgettable experience that will leave you full and happy.
Melting Pot Tours have been in business since 2008. In early 2021, Jody Flowers became the new owner of Melting Pot Food Tours. Jody is a fun-loving food enthusiast with an expansive background in and passion for the culinary arts. She is a native of Indiana and earned a BS in Restaurant Hotel Management from Purdue University along with a Culinary Arts degree from Johnson & Wales University. She ran a successful catering business in Charleston, SC for a number of years before returning to Indiana to work in the restaurant industry.
Jody eventually made her way west to southern California, and in 2007 she opened Flowers Hotel Group, a boutique sales and marketing firm based in Los Angeles. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, traveling and, of course, dining out.
Jody’s goal is to continue to select the most interesting and intriguing neighborhoods and foodie hot spots for their top-rated food tasting tours. Melting Pot Food Tours has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, Conde-Nast Traveler, Sunset Magazine, Tasting Table, AAA Westways Magazine, AARP online, Los Angeles Magazine, Pasadena Magazine, and Pasadena Star News, as well as on the CBS Evening News and the KTLA Morning News with Gayle Anderson. And most recently on California Live | NBCLA.
