Green Smoothie, Celebrity Style

Ingredients

  • ‍2 cups water
  • 2 handfuls shredded lettuce (any variety is fine; Romaine is recommended)
  • 1 handful shredded spinach (may also use arugula or watercress)
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped coarsely
  • small handful flat-leaf parsley (may also use cilantro or even fresh mint)
  • ‍1 apple, cored and peeled
  • 1 citrus fruit – any – orange, tangerine, lemon, lime – segmented; peel, seeds, pith removed
  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (plain or fruit is fine)
  • Milk, juice, as desired (I use coconut or almond milk)
  • Berries, mango, pomegranate seeds, chia or flax seeds – any small amount of any or all of these is fine, and optional

Cooking Instructions

  • Place all items in blender jar and puree completely
  • Blend everything until smooth and creamy
